The "suzu" range of whetstone by Morihei Japan has been renamed "Hi" (火/Fire)... which was actually it's original name but there was worry about the translation from Japanese to English. Whatever these sharpening stones are called, we love them. They are a great value whetstone for their performance level, being a favourite among many professional knife sharpeners internationally.
Harder (and longer lasting) than many other stones, they still provide great feedback when sharpening and have a lovely buttery feel.
The whetstones are currently available in 1,000, 4,000, 6,000 and 12,000 grit, with an 8,000 and newly created 500 grit stone winging their way from Japan as we speak.
